Welcome to Higashimachi Clinic

Visiting a new clinic for the first time can feel a little uncertain, especially if you're unsure what to expect. This guide is designed to help new patients feel prepared, comfortable, and confident before their first appointment.

Before Your Appointment

What to Bring

To help us provide the best possible care from day one, please bring the following:

  • Your health insurance card (if applicable)
  • Photo identification (such as your residence card or driver's licence)
  • A list of current medications, including dosages and the names of prescribing doctors
  • Any relevant medical records or referral letters from previous doctors
  • Allergy information — medications, foods, or materials you're allergic to
  • Your medical history summary — past surgeries, chronic conditions, family history of significant illnesses

If you're unsure what's relevant, bring what you have. Our staff can help you determine what information is useful.

Arriving at the Clinic

We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete any registration paperwork. Our reception team will greet you, confirm your details, and guide you through the check-in process.

During Your Consultation

Your first appointment is an opportunity for your doctor to get to know you and your health history. It typically includes:

  1. A medical history review — your doctor will ask about your current concerns, past health issues, medications, and lifestyle factors
  2. A physical examination — this may include checking blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and other relevant measurements
  3. Discussion of your concerns — please don't hesitate to share all symptoms or questions, even if they seem minor
  4. A care plan — your doctor may recommend follow-up tests, lifestyle changes, referrals, or prescriptions as needed
